Analogue Interconnect Reviews

What The Experts Say…

  • The Ear 5 Stars

Arran Ultra L RCA Grun & Transpose Speaker Cables Grun

Those serious about unlocking the full potential of their sound systems with transparent, natural-sounding cables owe Arran a listen.

I found the Atlas offerings more musically engaging than the reference cables they replaced. Music was presented with more coherence and flow in each of three systems auditioned.

  • HiFi Choice Recommended

    Element Achromatic RCA

…the Element Achromatic RCA interconnect represents excellent value for money and sounds really good across a wide range of different musical genres.

LIKE: full and open sound presentation. DISLIKE: nothing at the price

  • HiFi Choice

    Ailsa Achromatic RCA

…a really classy interconnect and certainly very much at home in high end systems.

The warm and involving atmosphere of the Zipper Hall in Los Angeles, where the recording was made, is beautifully conveyed by the Ailsa Achromatic. The surprisingly complex structure of the music is clear and detailed and poses no problems for the interconnect to handle.

  • HiFi Plus

    Element Achromatic RCA

It remains consistent in its ability to keep a soundstage tidy, keep the frequency range smoothly integrated and ensure rhythms and tempos stay on the front foot.

This lack of artifice makes a good change from any number of alternative cables that seem determined to make an overt mark on the sound of a system.

  • HiFi World 5 Stars

    Element Achromatic RCA

Most of the sonic advantages of midrange interconnects, at a budget price.

A fantastic showing for its asking price, the Atlas Element Achromatic does not disgrace itself – even when partnered with some exotic equipment.

  • The Ear Best Buy

    Ailsa Achromatic RCA

During the weeks of the review I switched back and forth between my usual cables and the Atlas and I never felt disappointed by what I heard from the Atlas.

Be sure to try and hear them before you hand over your money for anything else.

  • The Ear Best Buy

    Element Achromatic RCA

That such a relatively inexpensive cable can perform so well served to make me think again about price/performance and the law of diminishing returns.

The Elements replaced some far more expensive cables from another well-respected British manufacturer and to be honest, I could detect no loss of sound quality or musicality in the performance.

  • HiFi Choice Recommended

    Element Achromatic RCA

The sound seems to fill every nook and cranny in the listening room, which again demonstrates just how significantly cables can affect the quality of the soundstage.

The Element Achromatic RCA is superb value for money and is very much to be recommended.

  • HiFi World 5 Stars

    Ailsa Achromatic RCA

    OUTSTANDING – amongst the best.

A mid-range cable that can take you just that little bit closer to the music.

  • HiFi Choice Recommended

    Element Integra RCA

We have definition, a wide-open soundstage, oodles of drive and attack…

Here’s a (cable) loom less concerned about minding its sonic p’s and q’s that has a winning way with textures and timbres and homes in on the emotional core of the music.

  • HiFi Choice Recommended

    Element Mezzo XLR

…provides music that is consistently sophisticated and so represents excellent value….

…I am instantly drawn into the performance, which effortlessly manages to combine impressive intimacy with a real foot-tapping tempo and superb clarity.

  • HFN Editor's Choice

    Equator XLR

The sound remains nimble too, the bass unmuddied and quick where it needs to be or heavy and extended where the recording demands. It’s a very realistic upgrade from basic XLR interconnects.

I have described the influence of Atlas’s Equator XLR interconnects as one of remedy, a very subtle emollient that trades crystalline, forensic insight for a sound that is both forgiving and musically compelling.

  • Diapason

    Hyper DD Ultra RCA

Following on from our win in 2017 for the Element Superior, the Hyper DD Ultra RCA wins France’s Premier award the Diapason D’OR 2019 in the ‘Cables & Accessories’ category.

  • HiFi World 5 Globe Review

    Asimi ‘Grun’ Luxe

    OUTSTANDING – amongst the best.
VERDICT – If your system warrants it these cables could be just the combination to take it to another level.

The Atlas Asimis are expensive but they are superbly constructed and, most importantly, have a gravitas few others can match.

  • HiFi World 5 Globe Review

Asimi Luxe Ultra RCA & Speaker Cables

While the Asimi cables are excellent, they are truly transformed in sonic terms when the ‘Grun’ (ground) cables are added.

The fact that various types of termination are offered for those Grun cables means that you can experiment to see what variant works best for your hi-fi system to hone the cables in order to get the very best from them. The end result is quite delightful as the Grun system produces a balanced sound quality, rich in clarity.

  • HiFi Choice

    Equator Integra RCA

An excellent review from HiFi Choice, concluding ”These interconnects transmit consistently sophisticated music and represent excellent value for money.”

I find myself treated to a performance that retains all the elegance and refinement that I am accustomed to with this CD.

  • HiFi Pig Highly Recommended

    Element Superior Integra RCA

HiFi Pig’s review concluded ”…yet another great cable from Atlas. If you’re looking to take a safe step into the ‘better’ cable market this is an excellent starting point.”

For the cost of this cable it can easily play with some other higher priced alternatives.

  • HiFi World

    Element Superior Integra RCA

HiFi World summarise their review of the Element Integra Superior describing it as being “Outstanding – amongst the best.”

Swapping out a standard pair of interconnects and inserting the Atlas cables between an Oppo UDP-205 universal disc player and a pair of Longdog Audio LDA P6 monoblock amplifiers saw an immediate improvement. This interconnect is extremely clear and open, with impressive transient speed.

  • HiFi & Music Source

    Element Superior Integra RCA

HiFi & Music Source take an unusual approach, comparing the Superior to both a competitor’s cable and our own top of the range Mavros!

…;the soundstage remains wide and comfortable and I like it. There is little loss in soundstage when ‘2049’ rumbles around me and I am pleasantly surprised by the performance.

  • Diapason

    Element Superior Integra RCA

Atlas Element Superior wins France’s Premier award the Diapason D’OR 2017

  • HiFi Choice

    Element Superior Integra RCA

The ease with which the Element Superiors convey the delicate nuances of the piece demonstrates clearly the musicality of these interconnects.

These well-made interconnects offer a sophisticated sound across a wide range of music, and are also great value for money.

  • HiFi World

    Element Integra Turntable RCA

The question has to be, though, can it really improve the quality of a deck costing in the region of £200- £300. Actually, yes. Plugging these into a Rega Planar 1 turntable (£250) in place of a pair of stock leads brought a noticeable improvement.

Most noticeable was the reduction in background noise and an expansion of the soundstage.

  • HiFi World

    Hyper Integra Tonearm RCA

With Kraftwerk’s ‘Minimum–Maximum’ the notes stopped and started with lovely clarity, allowing the electronic beats to weave together. There was also added depth to the sound, bringing greater atmosphere to these live recordings.

In short this is an excellent cable that doesn’t break the bank but offers real benefits.

  • HiFi Choice

    Hyper Duo Integra RCA

…The Hyper Duo is a class act that is very much at home across a wide range of musical genres.

Hans Zimmer’s ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ demonstrates just how well it handles the complexities of a full orchestra. The music has tremendous presence and power in my room.

  • HiFi Choice

    Hyper Integra Tonearm RCA

After connecting the Hyper Tonearm cable to my tonearm… I am greeted with a lovely sound that instantly draws me into the performance.

In short, the Hyper Integra is a sophisticated-sounding cable that represents great value for money.

  • The Audiophile Man

    Element Integra Tonearm RCA

The amount of vocal detail on offer here was truly impressive and this was surely helped by a reduction in noise.

In fact, the lower noise aspect of this cable is its biggest feature because, from that, all kinds of upper midrange insight and dynamic reach emerges from it.

  • HiFi Choice

    Element Integra Tonearm RCA

With the cable fed from a moving-coil cartridge and connected to my valve phono stage, I am immediately impressed by the refinement of the sound.

…and the Element Integra is a great step up from many supplied tonearm cables.

  • The Audiophile Man

    Hyper Integra Tonearm RCA

Sheer quality. Specifically, the main highpoint was the instrumental and vocal separation.

…showed the benefits of a low noise design that allowed more detail to flow and greater focus to be had on the music…

  • HiFi Choice

    Element Integra RCA

After running in, I play a variety of recordings and discover that the Element Integra works extremely well across a wide range of genres.

The Element Integra represents excellent value for money and so comes highly recommended.

  • What HiFi

    Element Integra RCA

Three time winner of What HiFi’s Product of the Year in the category ‘Best Analogue Interconnect.’

Subtle and smooth, there’s nothing to gripe about here – and as a first upgrade, the Element Integras come highly recommended.

  • HiFi World

    Element Integra RCA

Showing a rich presentation and a firmly grounded bass, the Element offers plenty of detail. …the Element offers remarkable value for money.

Adding 3D depth to the pleasingly arranged and constructed soundstage, the performance added a layered arrangement that was surprising for this price point.

  • HiFi Pig

    Equator Integra RCA

And WOW! I’m immediately impressed with what I hear. A beautifully succulent smooth sound, ‘Glamour Profession’ bounces along with great verve and rhythm. (Equator reviewed as part of a complete Atlas-wired system).

I have to commend Atlas for this great cable. It stands up to cables costing five times or more the price. It wipes the floor with any budget cables. It’s neutral, rhythmical, detailed and balanced. The soundstage has to be heard to be believed.

  • What HiFi

    Equator Integra RCA

In short, there’s nothing to dislike here, if you want a fine second-upgrade interconnect, look no further than this Atlas.

Working with the cable, our kit’s performance gained additional dynamics and detailing within a spacious, well-timed and tonally neutral sound.

  • HiFi Choice

    Equator Integra RCA

And in the great scheme of interconnect(ed) things, the Equator is very fine indeed – you’ll not find much at the price that comes close in terms of musicality.

The music exhibited greater rhythmic bounce and vitality than before. So, all round, it seemed to be a convincing win for the Integra-fitted Equator cables.

  • HiFi World

    Hyper Ultra RCA

Outstanding – amongst the best. It’s not what the Atlas interconnects are adding to the music but more the fact that they are taking nothing away. Tonally they are neutral so no grain or smear is added to the replay chain.

A basically transparent interconnect which presents instruments in a realistic fashion and never restricts the tempo of music. Add in excellent detail resolution and the Atlas should go to the top of anyone’s list at this price.

  • HiFi News

    Hyper Ultra RCA

Our listeners were instantly impressed with the clarity.

…the dream-like sound picture of Madonna’s Frozen was tremendously vivid with the Atlas Hyper.

  • HiFi News

    Ascent XLR

Build quality is first-rate, such that it’s a shame to hide these Ascent cables behind your equipment rack.

They’re expensive of course, hence the company putting its new Ascent range in its ‘reference series.’ But if your system is worthy, these cables should ensure you’re getting the most from each component.

  • HiFi Plus

    Ascent Ultra RCA

That makes for a sound virtually unimpeded by the cables in detail-resolution terms, and shows just how much information (read: music) is lost when listening to your system through regular cables.

However, Ascent is phenomenally detailed and insightful in its own right and will make almost any system sound like it’s just gone hi-res… In short, this is very exciting stuff.

  • HiFi News

    Mavros Ultra RCA/XLR

This is a supremely well-balanced cable with a standard of construction and finish to match.

Atlas’s Asimi Ultra had already dispelled the myth that all silver cables sound ‘bright’ but the copper-infused Mavros Ultra succeeds in sounding smoother still. It helps instil a settled quietness to musical backgrounds, the system sounding free of grit and grain and yet not so luxuriant or sweet that the shimmering edge of percussion or brass is polished away.

  • HiFi World

    Mavros Ultra RCA

The ability of the interconnect to combine speed with such composure resulted, time and again, in a stellar musical performance.

Naturally, Atlas recommends the use of its Mavros interconnects with its Mavros speaker cable. With both in place the system took on a whole new dimension, offering greater space, depth, dynamics and fluidity. These new Mavros cables from Atlas have the uncanny ability to sound fast yet relaxed, detailed yet refined, fluid yet composed.

  • HiFi World

    Mavros Ultra RCA

The confidence of the cables, in terms of presentation, is quite remarkable.

What is remarkable about these cables is how much detail is presented without having to ramp up the upper mids to bright levels. The confidence of the cables, in terms of presentation, is quite remarkable.

  • HiFi Plus

    Asimi Ultra RCA

…extremely detailed and extraordinarily neutral; all of the things you want from a cable with none of the things you don’t.

It’s hard not to be seriously impressed with Atlas’ Asimi and Mavros pairing. These are two of the very, very best. Plus, it’s good to find a truly UK high-end offering. Atlas is definitely on the high-end map!

  • The Audiophile Man

    Asimi Ultra RCA

The Asimi Ultra is, frankly, a stunning cable and a candidate for the best interconnect currently on the market.

Speaking of bass, percussion was now more distinct with an instrumental separation that allowed air to flow between the instruments.

  • HiFi News

    Asimi Ultra RCA

…beautifully constructed and finished – its new Ultra phono plugs are exquisitely machined and polished.

Speaking of bass, percussion was now more distinct with an instrumental separation that allowed air to flow between the instruments.
