Analogue Interconnects : XLR Interconnects : Hyper Symmetrical XLR

Hyper Symmetrical XLR Interconnect

Hyper Symmetrical Balanced XLR-XLR.

The new Atlas Hyper Symmetrical XLR to XLR analogue audio interconnect replaces the famous Navigator cable; it employs an OFC screen with copper mylar to give a 100% rejection of RFI. The signal carrying conductors are our high purity grain free OCC copper laid in a concentric fashion and contained in a PEF dielectric. The outer PVC sheath is in a gloss black finish.

In the Hyper we do not place barriers from materials of different characteristics such as solder in the signal path; therefore the Atlas XLR plugs employed are our unique solder free, non compressing types.

The Hyper XLR to XLR analogue audio interconnect uses separate going and return conductors. The screen with 100% coverage, rejects RFI interference. The two separate conductors dedicated to the going and the return signals are wired in a fully balanced fashion thereby keeping the going, return and ground paths separate. Balanced interconnects will reduce noise when they're used in balanced systems between the amplifier and pre-amplifier for example.

OCC conductors with polyethylene foam dielectrics improve signal transfer by reducing harmful deletions; with the Hyper balanced symmetrical cables, you'll experience the joys of listening to a wider band-width signal; it will provide an even sound with no artificial or forced emphasis of higher frequencies to make the sound brighter in order to impress in the way silver plated cables usually do. It will offer a realistic, accurate sound with excellent width, height and depth

We recommend you use these cables with their matching speaker cables in order that the signal band-width is maintained throughout the system.

Atlas XLR plugs are wired as follows:

  • Pin 1 = Ground
  • Pin 2 = Hot
  • Pin 3 = Cold

A few amplifier producers wire their systems with different conventions. Always check with the manufacturers instructions before ordering. If you need these wired in a different way, the factory will do that for you. Because the conductor to plug interface is crimped, they may not readily be altered in retrospect.

Complementary products:

Complementary products are unbalanced analogue audio cable, the SPDIF 75 Ohm digital cable, the HDMI cable and the four Hyper speaker cables, Hyper 1.5, Hyper 2.0, Hyper 3.0 and Hyper Bi Wire.

All Hyper speaker cables are made with OFC conductors and Teflon dielectrics; the larger conductor Hyper 3.00 is suitable for those using large speakers that want more bass. The Hyper 2.0 and 1.5 give correspondingly less low frequency information. Long runs of speaker cables may require the larger conductors. These complimentary products are designed to match with other products in the Hyper range. The Hyper bi wire cables consisting of two large 2.0 sq mm conductors and two solid conductors for the high frequencies, are matched electronically and should be used where speakers have four posts for bi wiring.

Recommended accessories:

Recommended accessories for even better results, are the Atlas noise reducing Shield Caps, Atlas Eos power cables and the Atlas Eos balanced power supply.

Removal of the brass links between HF and LF terminals typically provided on speakers, and their replacement with better quality Atlas links will also contribute to much improved sound and listening pleasure.
